Put people at the center, let technology be your partner.
The revision of ISO 9001:2015 has been officially announced.
After the routine revision of the ISO 9001:2015 standard was rejected in 2020 based on a global company survey and a final decision by the relevant committee ISO/TC 176/SC2, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has now announced the revision in August after a renewed vote.
Drastic changes in the global business context, shaped by pandemics, wars, or the introduction of new technologies, are likely to have been significant factors in the altered voting behavior.
As a result, the core themes of the changes are expected to focus on areas such as corporate sustainability, agility, change management, and resilience.
Topics that have been tentatively integrated, such as supplier management or supply chain management, handling risks and opportunities, especially concerning technological leaps like the introduction of artificial intelligence in the corporate environment, will also come more into focus.
Over the next two to three years, a corresponding working group will create design specifications and submit them for approval.
We will keep you informed about the latest developments at this point. You can find more information about the work of the responsible committee ISO/TC 176/SC2 here.
